अन्नपूर्णा Edition

The theme, “Annapoorna Edition,” draws from the spirit of nourishment, of the body, the soul and the city’s cultural landscape. It is a tribute to those for whom the kitchen is more than a place of work, it is a sacred space where history simmers, values are stirred and service is served warm.

 

Over several weeks, our students stepped into Sambhajinagar’s vibrant lanes, not just with clipboards, but with curiosity, humility and deep regard for the stories they were about to hear. The students were organised in 10 teams Each team consisted of 6  to 7 students who collectively:

• Named their teams and designed creative logos and badges as emblems of their identity and spirit.

• Crafted a thoughtful interview structure which constituted:

  • The Beginning of a Beautiful Taste

  • Steps, Stumbles & Strides

  • Values & Principles

  • The Road Ahead

  • Lessons learned and hope for the future

  • Captured photographs, moments and emotions that brought each entrepreneurial journey to life, from the aroma of chai brewing to laughter echoing through narrow alleys.

 

More than a data collection exercise, it became a kitchen-table exchange, -warm, real and deeply human. For many students, this was their first meaningful interaction with entrepreneurs outside textbooks and theory. They witnessed firsthand the emotional capital behind every plate: early mornings, loyal customers, family disagreements, quiet reinvention and the invisible dignity of doing things right for decades.

 

While all efforts have been made to interpret the journeys correctly, any flaw if noted in same is purely unintentional.In the making of this book, we have taken creative liberties to merge various categories of established stores, street foods, street beverages, traditional mouth freshers, seated outlets and fresh home made food. We have organised the flow of the book to introduce all the foodpreneurs as per their establishment age - from the oldest to the youngest.
